'Kang Ta' and 'Yang Dong-geun' will co-star in a musical which will be produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Korean military. The Army Headquarters said it is producing an original musical entitled ‘MINE’, to be staged starting in October in six major cities. So far, some 400 soldiers and officers have applied to take part in the audition. The three leading roles will go to Kang Ta (real name Ahn Chil-hyun) , Yang Dong-geun and musical actor Lee Byung-jun. All three actors are currently serving in the Army. The musical will be produced by Kim Deok-nam, who directed the Korean version of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ while composer Kim Tae-keun, the sound director of the opening ceremony of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, will be in charge of the music. The Musical ‘Mine’ is based on the true story of Colonel Lee Jong-myung at the demilitarized zone in 2000. IIt is the story of conflict and reconciliation between a father, who served in the military his whole life, and his younger-generation son, a contemporary dance major in college.Performance: The Musical Mine
