The popular musical “Parade, Waikiki Brothers” is back with a new name, “The New Parade, Waikiki Brothers!” The musical is based on the Korean film “Waikiki Brothers” (2001). The story is about people living on hope, despite the harsh realities of the 1970s and 1980s. According to Seoul Musical Company, not only has the name of the musical changed, but the characters’ names have been changed to distinguish the musical from the original movie. To broaden the musical’s appeal, popular songs such as Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” and Jaurim’s “HaHaHa Song” have been added. Rounding out the bill are musical stars Moon Hye-young, from “Aida;” Lim Chul-hyeong, from “The Full Monty;” and Cho Byong-gon, from the 2006 version of “Parade, Waikiki Brothers.
